Commenting on the Obama/Israel crisis, Ed Lasky concludes that the US President is deliberately trying to turn America against Israel – and he is succeeding.

I have written in today’s Jewish Chronicle that it is time for Israel to stop going along with the diplomatic lies told for so long by Britain, America and the west about the Arab war against Israel. Lies that have twisted so many people’s minds into the belief that Israel is the historic usurper and aggressor in the Middle East, whereas in fact the Jews and the Jews alone are the rightful heirs to the land, in historical, legal and moral terms, and a monstrous injustice has been and is still being done to them.

It is these lies, and the consequent appeasement of the Arabs who promulgate them and the rewarding of Arab aggression, which has caused the Middle East impasse to remain an unending conflict. And it is these lies and the new distortions supplied by Obama which now pose the greatest single danger to Israel’s security and existence by eroding public support – not just in Britain, which is already lost, as is to a lesser extent ‘old’ Europe, but among the people who are the staunchest supporters of Israel: the great mass of middle America.

Disastrously, Israel has gone along with these lies -- for a variety of reasons. First, Israel observes the rules of diplomacy which almost invariably involve compromise. Now compromise is in general a good thing; but in a war of extermination, if the victim compromises with its attackers it strengthens them and makes its defeat more likely. In no other conflict in the history of the planet has a country which is the victim of an eight-decade belligerency aimed at wiping it off the map been expected to make concessions to its attackers. In no other conflict has such a victimised people been bullied by onlookers into doing so. Yet the first pressure is what Britain, America and Europe have been applying for decades, and the second is what Obama is now applying, with the EU falling in behind him: bullying the prospective victim of extermination into submitting to measures which increase the risk of such an eventuality, and in the process almost forcing the Palestinians from their habitual pose of sullen obstructionism and sporadic terrorism into another spate of outright war.

This global trance of intellectual inversion, hallucinatory bigotry and appeasement of terror could be broken instantly if the big lies that sustain it were exposed for the malevolent fictions that they are. Yet remarkably, Israel never stands up and delivers the necessary home truths about the history of the region and the cowardly and vicious behaviour of its ‘friends’.

There are various reasons for this. First, vulnerable as it is, it needs all the allies it can get – particularly America – in order to survive. These ‘friends’, false as they may be, are nevertheless better than enemies; and they provide considerable ballast -- in their own interests, let it never be overlooked -- against Israel’s declared foes. So that’s one very good reason why Israel has bitten its lip and proclaimed deep friendship with these treacherous western nations.

Next, and scarcely less important, is what can only be described as the psychopathology arising from Israel’s beleaguered existence. After eight decades of military siege, Israel suffers from what might be described as a collective ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ – identifying to some extent at least with the mindset of its abusers.

At the same time, Israel believes the moral rightness of its cause is so overwhelmingly obvious it cannot grasp that others don’t see it that way, let alone view its Arab aggressors as the victims of Israel: such an appalling inversion of reality and justice is simply too outrageous for it to take on board.

As for the need to make the case again and again for the Jewish entitlement to the land, Israelis protest – not unreasonably – why they alone should have to justify their existence when no other country, however artificial or contested, such as Pakistan, for example, is expected to do so.

Even more significant is the fact that, as a result of the Holocaust in Europe and the egregious betrayal of the Jews by the British in Palestine (the perfidious capitulation to Arab terrorism which is the true historic cause of the whole enduring Middle East problem) successive Israeli governments have written off Britain and Europe as irredeemably bigoted and thus impervious to any reasoned or moral argument about the situation of the Jewish people. So they won’t make the case.

However understandable any of these reasons may once have been, they have not only had catastrophic consequences but are now superseded by the new reality. Israel assumed that America would remain its staunch friend. It believed that because, first, the vast bulk of the American people supported Israel, and second because it assumed that any US administration would realise that Israel was the bulwark against a hostile Arab world (forgetting how indifferent or even hostile certain US Presidents had been in the past). Now we can see how short-sighted, foolish and arrogant those assumptions were. Obama has now demonstrated beyond doubt that he is Israel’s enemy – and much worse than that, he is turning the great-hearted American people against it.

So with Iran about to manufacture its genocide bomb, the course of Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu is now clear. He must speak over the heads of Obama and his administration to the great mass of the American people. He must tell them very plainly the truth of what is happening and the way in which their country is being turned into an ally of evil against justice, aggressor against victim. And beyond America, he must now state in blunt and unmistakeable terms the grotesque reality of what Israel’s ‘friends’ in Britain and Europe, along with America, are now doing: uniquely rewarding those who wish to destroy a sovereign state, and punishing their victims.

For sure, speaking out like this is not in the diplomatic rule-book. The idea of telling the truth would doubtless have the mandarins of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office reaching for the smelling salts. But it’s diplomacy that has brought the Middle East to this terrible impasse, and it’s diplomacy that threatens to facilitate yet more mass murder of the innocent. Netanyahu must take his courage in his hands and finally speak public truth to unjust and coercive power at this moment of such grave peril, not just for Israel but for the world.

Obama, Settlements, and the Missing Two-State-Solutions

President Barack Obama’s long-awaited speech to the Muslim World in Cairo had some important, positive elements in it. He is to be commended for that.

Among other things, he spelled out the need for Arabs and other Muslims to get a handle on their own extremists; defined, then stressed, the importance of true democracy while speaking in a nation run by modern-day Pharaohs; emphasized the importance of equal rights for women; and so forth.

When speaking of the need for all peoples to get along, the President even dared to speak the word "Copt"—once...then dropped it like a hot potato. But this, too, was sort of courageous—if short-lasting—given the extreme touchiness of the subject. After all, this wasn’t Israel he was speaking in—nor poor Arabs—er Palestinians—he was crying about.

The Copts, after all, were/are the millions of native people who were conquered and forcibly Arabized—like much of the rest of the Middle East—after the Arabs burst out of the Arabian Peninsula in the 7th century C.E. and spread in all directions.

Unlike Hindus, Buddhists, and other non-"Peoples of the Book(primarily Christians and Jews)," Copts were not given an ultimatum to convert to Islam en masse or die (yet many, indeed, have been murdered).

The latter Ahl al-Kitab above were allowed to live as long as they accepted their subjugated status as dhimmis—"protected" people...that is, as long as they paid their special taxes and such to their Arab Muslim masters. Know your place, and it was possible to prosper.

The Uncle Tom Copt supreme, the late President Sadat’s Foreign Minister and later Secretary General of the United Nations, Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali, offered that Israel must consent to the same Arabization if it wanted to be accepted in the "Arab World." I don’t think you want to know my feelings about such "acceptance."

Now, of course, this all begs the question—or at least should...

Why was there only one brief word by our President about Copts—without defining their plight or saying anything else about them—but, unabashedly later, he felt free to lead the Arab choir in taking Israel to task about the plight of the "Palestinians (mostly Arabs whose families came from somewhere else—despite their taqiyyah, legitimate lying to the Infidel—tales of woe)?

There are more native Copts in Egypt than Palestinian (however you define that) Arabs.

I understand the Arabs’ demand that virtually the whole region be seen as just their own—purely Arab patrimony as they tell it. But why does an American President have to play along with this subjugating mindset ? He mentioned the word "Darfur" also. Does he also not know who the perpetrators of the Sudan’s genocidal actions are? But, again, one word...and dropped—like Copt—like a hot potato.

While it was nice to hear the President lecture the Muslim world about the Holocaust, he played right into their hands once again—at least those, unlike Ahmadinejad of Iran and the President’s good buddy, Mahmoud Abbas, who do not deny that it ever happened.

The Arab believers’ typical answer is, why should we have to pay for the sins of Europe?

Now, there was a way that Mr. Obama could have handled the subject correctly that would have been light years better—if he had really wanted to. But that’s another point where his attempt at courage failed him.

One half of Israel’s Jews are from refugee families from the Arab/Muslim World. Over another million more of these folks live in France, America, and elsewhere—the refugees hardly anyone ever talks about. They were known as kilab yahud—Jew dogs—and, like Copts (only worse), also never knew what the morrow would bring living as dhimmis amid Arab Muslim masters. Massacres, forced conversions, expulsions, constant humiliations, and so forth were certainly not unknown to the killers of Prophets and the sons of apes and pigs.

While the President once again lectured about those allegedly horrid Israeli settlements (how dare a Jew demand to once again be allowed to live in Judea?), which we’ll get to shortly, why was he silent about millions of native Kurds in Syria and Imazighen/Berbers in North Africa who have had their own languages and cultures outlawed and have been slaughtered if they dare to protest? The latter have been told that they can’t even name their children with their own native names and must use Arab Islamic ones instead. But, let’s all complain about settlements instead...

Why demand a roadmap for the Arabs’ state # 22 (second, not first, in the original April 25, 1920 borders of the Mandate of Palestine—Arab Jordan being created after 1922 on some 80% of the total area)—but not demand likewise for some thirty-five million truly stateless, non-Arab Kurds or justice for tens of millions of non-Arab Imazighen?

The President’s focus on Muslim extremism was indeed important, but why did he yield to the assertion that the Arabs’ demand for their additional state—nearly two dozen in total— was somehow equivalent to the Jews’ demand that their own sole, resurrected nation not be destroyed in granting that Arab wish?

Mr. Obama can whisper or shout sweet pleasantries all that he wants to about a two-state solution (at least referring to Jews and Arabs—forget about any rights for those others and more mentioned above), but he knows full well that that Saudi Peace (of the grave) Plan he said Israel would be crazy not to accept calls for Israel to be inundated by millions of so-called "returning" Arab refugees, raised on murderous Jew-hatred for decades, and for Israel to return to its pre-’67 , nine-mile wide Auschwitz/armistice line—not border—existence.

In other words— a plan to convert Israel into another Arab state..."peacefully," the Saudi Peace Plan in a nutshell. That’s why, to this date, Abbas—the alleged good cop—swears he’ll never recognize a Jewish State of Israel.

Blown buses bring bad press...so, there’s more than one way to skin the Jewish cat (especially with America supplying the pliers)!

Now think about this a minute...

President Obama demands that Jews stop building for normal growth in Jewish population centers resurrected in Judea and Samaria—aka only in the past century as "the West Bank." He includes Jerusalem in this too. The area, by the way, is non-apportioned territory of the Mandate—open to settlement by Arabs and Jews alike...not "Palestinian territory" as is frequently claimed. Jews lived and owned property there until the Arab massacres of the 1920s and 1930s.

After the Arab attempt on Israel’s life failed in 1967, the architects of the final draft of UNSC Resolution 242 did not expect Israel to return to the vulnerable ’49 armistices line of the status quo ante.

242 called for the creation of secure and recognized borders to replace those lines, and any Israeli withdrawal at all was to be in the context of true peace treaties—not hudna schmudna cease fires. The aim was to give Israel some semblance of defensible borders, which it never had before—a constant temptation to those who would cut it in half in an armored attack, and so forth. Arabs had indeed already tried this before.

Here’s Britain’s Lord Caradon, chief architect of the final draft of 242, on the matter:

We didn’t say there should be a withdrawal to the ’67 line; we did not put the ’the’ in, we did not say ’all ’ the territories deliberately. We all knew - that the boundaries of ’67 were not drawn as permanent frontiers, they were a cease-fire line of a couple of decades earlier... We did not say that the ’67 boundaries must be forever; it would be insanity.

President Lyndon Johnson summarized the situation this way on June 19, 1967:

" A return to the situation on June 4 (the day before outbreak of war) was not a prescription for peace but for renewed hostilities." He then called for "new recognized boundaries that would provide security against terror, destruction, and war."

President Ronald Reagan, September 1, 1982:

"In the pre-1967 borders, Israel was barely 10-miles wide...the bulk of Israel’s population within artillery range of hostile armies. I am not about to ask Israel to live that way again."

And in 1988, Secretary of State George Shultz declared...

"Israel will never negotiate from or return to the 1967 borders."

So, are ya ready?

Here’s my question to President Obama and the rest of the non-Arab world, lecturing Israel in Cairo and elsewhere non-stop. I leave out Arabs because they don’t accept a 9-mile wide Jewish State of Israel (but claim some two dozen "Arab" states—most created out of non-Arab peoples’ territory—for themselves), so nix any idea of them accepting anything bigger:

Where is Israel to get that territorial compromise over the disputed territories 242 promises if not in those "settlements" Mr. Obama complains about in a very small portion of Judea and Samaria?

I repeat...Israel was not expected to pull back to the suicidal armistice lines imposed upon it by the United Nations after it turned back the deadly assault of a half dozen Arab armies on it upon its rebirth in 1948. As would come to happen far too often later, the U.N. only stepped in after the Jews had turned the tide. It did nothing but watch when Israel was immediately attacked. Likewise, it withdrew its peacekeeping force in Sinai as soon as Egypt’s Nasser said to do so—after the latter set up his blockade of Israel at the Straits of Tiran—a casus belli.

America and other nations have fought wars and acquired territories thousands of miles away from home in the name of their national defense and security interests.

Is it really that hard for an intelligent American President to understand that Israel lives in a very nasty neighborhood and so requires a bit more depth to buffer itself from its committed, would-be executioners—no matter how much whitewash he pours over them?

The settlements issue Mr. Obama implies is the equivalent to Arabs not blowing Jews apart really comes down to this...

Given the situation Israel constantly faces (look at a map of the world...I dare you to find Israel without using a magnifying glass), does it not have a right to have a border which makes it wider in mileage than the distance Michelle Obama has to travel to buy shoes at the local shopping mall?

LOSING ISRAEL

Bill Warner asserts that "Israel is losing the propaganda war, hasbarah, and for a very good reason." Israelis are not inclined to deal with propaganda because they would have to examine Islam. They would have to "face the facts that the Koran and the Sunna (the actions and words of Mohammed) are filled with invectives against the Jews." They would have to grasp that "... when the Jews of Medina rejected Mohammed as a prophet they were all enslaved, exiled, murdered and robbed — all acts of jihad. These were not historical acts, but perfect examples of Islamic action towards Jews models prescribed for Muslims to follow up to the present time." Jews also need to understand that resurgent Islam isn't just targetting them. "[T]he Israel/Palestinian conflict is no different than the jihad in Kashmir, India, the Philippines, or in dozens of fronts in Africa" but global jihad does target Jews, and this has to be acknowledged before intelligent and incisive action can be taken. Praying for some flabby peace won't work. People don't fight effectively against a threat until they acknowledge the threat is real.

Israeli wins gold in fencing; Austrian hosts don't play 'Hatikva' Israeli fencer Daria Strelnikov won the gold medal at the cadet's fencing world championship in Austria Saturday night. However, as the 14-year-old athlete stood at the podium waiting to hear the Israeli national anthem, she was greeted by a disturbing quiet.

Strelnikov and a fellow teammate on the podium decided to fill in the silence by singing Hatikva themselves. They were joined by their coach, and other supporting voices in the crowd.
If anyone grabs video of this, I'd like to see it.

Going on the Offensive?

When Menachem Begin signed the Camp David Accords in September 1978, and followed this up by signing the Israel-Egypt peace treaty of March 1979, he initiated Israel’s defensive and losing strategy.

Let’s face a simple but unpleasant truth: Only a fool surrenders land won in a war of self-defense to the aggressor—surrenders land for what Anwar Sadat mockingly called “a piece of paper.”

Without firing a shot, Sadat won the greatest victory in military or diplomatic history. From an adversary superior in arms he regained the entire Sinai, including its strategic air bases built by Israel, and oil fields Israel had made productive. Begin surrendered all this—a twelve billion dollar infrastructure—for verbiage!

Sadat also manipulated Begin into abandoning the Jewish settlement of Yamit. This surrender infected Israel’s mentality with the pathological policy of “land for peace.” If this were not enough, Sadat conned Begin into signing the first international agreement that referred to Judea and Samaria as the “West Bank.”

Say what you will about Begin’s virtues, he didn’t really know what he was doing at Camp David. This pretty much sums up the story of his colleagues and successors to this day. Connect the dots: from Begin at Camp David to Bibi at the Begin-Sadat Center at Bar-Ilan University, where Netanyahu renounced the Jewish people’s biblical as well as legal claim to Judea and Samaria.

The State of Israel has been led by losers since the IDF’s miraculous victory in the June 1967 Six-Day War. It had to be miraculous, since it was achieved without the any thought or intention to incorporate Judea and Samaria into the State;! In fact, that bold but logical idea was opposed by Israel’s timid and myopic leaders. No wonder they ceded control of Israel’s holiest site, the Temple Mount, to the Arabs—who were stunned by this gesture of the conquerors.

The word “gesture” tells it all. Israel’s ruling elites think they can obtain peace through “gestures,” like yielding strategic assets for parchment—nay, for less than parchment, as witness the hero who retreated from Gaza for nothing. Let’s face it: Using a term coined by Lenin, we have to admit that for more than four decades this country has been ruled by “useful idiots,” whose mindless behavior was facilitated by Israel’s inane system of government—a system that allowed Ariel Sharon to nullify the 2003 Knesset elections and become Labor’s surrogate prime minister!

Let’s stop the pseudo-sophistication, the obscurantism: It’s not the Arabs but Jewish prime ministers that have laid the foundations for a Palestinian state.

And it makes no difference which party or party leader or party coalition heads Israel’s government: you get the same suicidal policy: retreat and surrender. Barack Obama could have drawn his anti-American foreign policy from Israel’s anti-Zionist foreign policy!

I am not a defeatist. For decades I have offered constructive alternatives to the self-destructive policies of this country. In fact, when I made aliyah in 1976—the year after the UN equated Zionism with “racism”—I brought with me the unheard idea of encouraging Israel to quit the United Nations, and I even gained support for the idea by a politically influential Israeli.

In any event, I have repeatedly proposed an offensive foreign policy, beginning with a serious exposé of the repressive nature of Arab regimes. Alternatively, since Israel was not going to quit the UN, I suggested that Israel submit a proposal in the General Assembly to expel this or that Arab or Islamic regime on grounds of its violation of the UN Charter or the anti-Genocide Convention?

I have often advocated an “ideological offensive” against Israel’s enemies, for example, exposing the hatred of Israel propagated by Egypt’s state-controlled media, which violates the Israel-Egyptian peace treaty.

The Arabs have never ceased their ideological offensive against Israel, playing the “victimization card” or inciting the UN to pass anti-Israel resolutions. Meanwhile, Israel’s political leaders continue to play the role of blind-deaf-mutes.

But what am I saying? Jews must not irritate the “goyim,” certainly not the descendants of Ishmael. Jews much show how magnanimous they are, how peace-loving they are, how long-suffering they are, vis-à-vis their Arab assailants. Yes, Jews must suffer the cruel attacks, the murderous hatred, the obscene lies of the Arabs. The last thing they must do is tell the truth about these compulsive liars, which means they must imitate these Arabs with a good conscience!

The Moslem Jew-haters of the World have gotten themselves a crypto-(secret)-Moslem as the President of the U.S.

Obama, advised by his Jew-hating Jewish lickspittles is dictating to the sovereign State of Israel how "it's going to be" as concerns the wished-for pseudo-state of the so-called "Palestinian" Arabs.

According to Obama and his sycophants, there are to be no Jews in Judea and Samaria (and of course Gaza, which is at this time completely filled with Arab squatters thanks to the Israel Left Kadima crowd).

Using the derogatory term "Settlers" to demean Jews living on Jewish land in Israeli territories, Obama has "forbidden" this practice for now and forever.

The arrogance of this ass-clown is beyond belief. The adage "Pride goeth before a fall*," should be kept in mind by him and his.

Weak as concerns the enemies of the United States, Obama becomes a scold and taskmaster as concerns Israeli Jews.

Although during his rise from obscurity, while he shone like a gilded calf, many Jews, including Israeli Jews, regarded Obama as the longed-for Messiah, the golden idol's feet were found to be of clay--and not firm clay either. He now stands on feet of crumbling clay--his gilding tarnished, his lips tirelessly mouthing carefully crafted phrases obscuring his Alinskyan agenda.

Why this love of so many Jews for this half-ass charlatan? Why this outpouring of love for their self- fashioned "golden child?"

He was the "Chosen One," America's Negro. Finally, these Jews (not to forget the much more numerous other Leftists and Liberals) could show that they were "racially blind." Didn't they support a "black man?" That he was the result of the coming together of a black African Moslem and a white hippie woman was disregarded. He (Obama) came from the "Communities." Didn't he organize the people in them? He had cast his lot with the blacks. He was America's "First Black President."

And the Jews who elevated him to the heights of the Presidency had shown their complete color-blindness.

The "color-blindness" of the Obama-loving Jews and other whites was not returned by the "First Black President."

If there ever was a President trying his best to move a segment of society to the top--at the expense of all other segments, this Obama is the "One."

Israelis have learned that Obama is NOT A FRIEND OF ISRAEL.

Jews who want--who need Israel to remain wholly Jewish land, should be aware of on whose side Obama is on (the Moslems, because he has never--to anyone's knowledge--renounced Islam, the ideology into which he was born as the son of a Moslem).

As for the so-called "Palestinian" and other Jew-hating Moslems, there are several ways to put a halt to the Moslem-cum-Nazi drive for a final Final Solution to the existence of Jews in the World.

They are outlined by Sultan Knish in his "Winning the War on Terror." I am leaning towards Solution No. 5 as the only defense against the Jew-haters' striving towards eradicating the objects of their ire. in a recent lecture in Washington, U.S. Army Lieutenant General Keith Dayton, the American officer charged with training Palestinian military forces in Jordan, made a shocking declaration.

In Ms. Glick's [Jerusalem Post columnist, Caroline Glick] words, "[Gen. Dayton] indicated that if Israel does not surrender Judea and Samaria within two years, the Palestinian forces he and his fellow American officers are now training at a cost of more than $300 million could begin killing Israelis." She went on to note that neither the general nor the Obama administration seemed to find this prospect grounds for rethinking the wisdom of such a training-and-arming program. In fact, her column observed that Defense Secretary Robert Gates "just extended Dayton's tour of duty for an additional two years and gave him the added responsibility of serving as Obama's Middle East mediator George Mitchell's deputy."

Taken together with the U.S. administration's refusal to come to grips with what truly is the most serious threat to peace in the Middle East - Iran's rising power and growing aggressiveness, reflecting in part its incipient nuclear weapons capabilities - the stage is being inexorably set for the next, and perhaps most devastating, regional conflict.

Whether the signals Mr. Obama is sending are intended to communicate such a message or not, they are going to be read by Israel's enemies as evidence of a profound rift between the United States and the Jewish State. In this part of the world, that amounts to an invitation to an open season on Israel.

Even those who aren't particularly sympathetic to Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu, could get a good measure of satisfaction from this interview with British Television during the retaliation against Hamas' shelling of Israel.

The interviewer asked him: "How come so many more Palestinians have been killed in this conflict than Israelis?" (A nasty question if there ever was one!)

Netanyahu: "Are you sure that you want to start asking in that direction?"

Interviewer: (Falling into the trap) "Why not?"

Netanyahu: "Because in World War II more Germans were killed than British and Americans combined, but there is no doubt in anyone's mind that the war was caused by Germany's aggression. And in response to the German blitz on London, the British wiped out the entire city of Dresden, burning to death more German civilians than the number of people killed in Hiroshima.

Moreover, I could remind you that in 1944, when the R.A.F. tried to bomb the Gestapo Headquarters in Copenhagen , some of the bombs missed their target and fell on a Danish children's hospital, killing 83 little children. Perhaps you have another question?"

Apparently, Benjamin Netanyahu gave an interview and was asked about Israel's occupation of Arab lands. His response was, "It's our land". The reporter (CNN or the like) was stunned -

read below "It's our land..." It's important information since we don't get fair and accurate reporting from the media and facts tend to get lost in the jumble of daily events.

Here are overlooked facts in the current & past Middle East situation. These were compiled by a Christian university professor:
BRIEF FACTS ON THE ISRAELI CONFLICT TODAY...(It takes just 15 minutes to read!)
It makes sense and it's not slanted. Jew and non-Jew -- it doesn't matter.

1. Nationhood and Jerusalem.
Israel became a nation in 1312 BCE, Two thousand years before the rise of Islam.

2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.

3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 BCE, the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 CE lasted no more than 22 years.

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures.
Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.

7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

9. Arab and Jewish Refugees: in 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.

10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.

11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000.

12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own people's lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey ..

13. The Arab-Israeli Conflict: the Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated [with their aggressive assaults and threats against all Israel 9 wars 1948, 1956, 1967, 1970-71, 1973, 1982, 1991, 2006, 2008-9] and lost. Israel defended herself each time and won.

14. The PLO's Charter [and the mandates of Hamas and Hezb’Allah] still call for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.

15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

16. The UN Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

17. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

18. The UN was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

19. The UN was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.

20. The UN was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like a policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. These are incredible times. We have to ask what our role should be. What will we tell our grandchildren about what we did when there was a turning point in Jewish destiny, an opportunity to make a difference?

The U.S. State Department Tuesday refused to state whether the Obama administration will honor a promise by the previous government that Israel will retain sovereignty over large Jewish areas in Judea and Samaria, in the event that a new Palestinian Authority state is created.

Now go back to March 1992. The Labor Party was in power. The Likud Central Committed met and elected Benjamin Netanyahu as chairman of the Likud Party—and guess what happened?

A proposal was made from the floor of the meeting, namely:
“A Likud government would not honor any agreement that compromised Israel’s security.”

Mr. Netanyahu rejected this proposal on the grounds that

“A democracy must honor its agreements”!

Arabs in Israel, let alone in its Legislative Body

These are not "Israeli." Israel is the only state in which Jews should be able to survive not constantly at risk of dangers ranging from discrimination to murder by those who hate Jews--Nazis, Followers of Mahomet, etc.

Only Jews should be allowed to hold Israeli citizenship. Israeli should mean a member of the people of Israel--who can nowadays be only a Jew.

ISRAEL'S RESPONSE TO THE ROADMAP

1. Both at the commencement of and during the process, and as a condition to its continuance, calm will be maintained. The Palestinians will dismantle the existing security organizations and implement security reforms during the course of which new organizations will be formed and act to combat terror, violence and incitement (incitement must cease immediately and the Palestinian Authority must educate for peace). These organizations will engage in genuine prevention of terror and violence through arrests, interrogations, prevention and the enforcement of the legal groundwork for investigations, prosecution and punishment. In the first phase of the plan and as a condition for progress to the second phase, the Palestinians will complete the dismantling of terrorist organizations (Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front, the Democratic Front Al-Aqsa Brigades and other apparatuses) and their infrastructure, collection of all illegal weapons and their transfer to a third party for the sake of being removed from the area and destroyed, cessation of weapons smuggling and weapons production inside the Palestinian Authority, activation of the full prevention apparatus and cessation of incitement. There will be no progress to the second phase without the fulfillment of all above-mentioned conditions relating to the war against terror. The security plans to be implemented are the Tenet and Zinni plans. [As in the other mutual frameworks, the Roadmap will not state that Israel must cease violence and incitement against the Palestinians].

2. Full performance will be a condition for progress between phases and for progress within phases. The first condition for progress will be the complete cessation of terror, violence and incitement. Progress between phases will come only following the full implementation of the preceding phase. Attention will be paid not to timelines, but to performance benchmarks. (Timelines will serve only as reference points).

3. The emergence of a new and different leadership in the Palestinian Authority within the framework of governmental reform: The formation of a new leadership constitutes a condition for progress to the second phase of the plan. In this framework, elections will be conducted for the Palestinian Legislative Council following coordination with Israel.

4. The Monitoring mechanism will be under American management. The chief verification activity will concentrate upon the creation of another Palestinian entity and progress in the civil reform process within the Palestinian Authority. Verification will be performed exclusively on a professional basis and per issue (economic, legal, financial) without the existence of a combined or unified mechanism. Substantive decisions will remain in the hands of both parties.

5. The character of the provisional Palestinian state will be determined through negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and Israel. The provisional state will have provisional borders and certain aspects of sovereignty, be fully demilitarized with no military forces, but only with police and internal security forces of limited scope and armaments, be without the authority to undertake defense alliances or military cooperation, and Israeli control over the entry and exit of all persons and cargo, as well as of its air space and electromagnetic spectrum.

6. In connection to both the introductory statements and the final settlement, declared references must be made to Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state and to the waiver of any right of return for Palestinian refugees to the State of Israel.

7. End of the process will lead to the end of all claims and not only the end of the conflict.

8. The future settlement will be reached through agreement and direct negotiations between the two parties, in accordance with the vision outlined by President Bush in his 24 June address.

9. There will be no involvement with issues pertaining to the final settlement. Among issues not to be discussed: settlement in Judea, Samaria and Gaza (excluding a settlement freeze and illegal outposts), the status of the Palestinian Authority and its institutions in Jerusalem, and all other matters whose substance relates to the final settlement.

10. The removal of references other than 242 and 338 (1397, the Saudi Initiative and the Arab Initiative adopted in Beirut). A settlement based upon the Roadmap will be an autonomous settlement that derives its validity therefrom. The only possible reference should be to Resolutions 242 and 338, and then only as an outline for the conduct of future negotiations on a permanent settlement.

11. Promotion of the reform process in the Palestinian Authority: A transitional Palestinian constitution will be composed, a Palestinian legal infrastructure will be constructed and cooperation with Israel in this field will be renewed. In the economic sphere: International efforts to rehabilitate the Palestinian economy will continue. In the financial sphere: The American-Israeli-Palestinian agreement will be implemented in full as a condition for the continued transfer of tax revenues.

12. The deployment of IDF forces along the September 2000 lines will be subject to the stipulation of Article 4 (absolute quiet) and will be carried out in keeping with changes to be required by the nature of the new circumstances and needs created thereby. Emphasis will be placed on the division of responsibilities and civilian authority as in September 2000, and not on the position of forces on the ground at that time.

13. Subject to security conditions, Israel will work to restore Palestinian life to normal: promote the economic situation, cultivation of commercial connections, encouragement and assistance for the activities of recognized humanitarian agencies. No reference will be made to the Bertini Report as a binding source document within the framework of the humanitarian issue.

14. Arab states will assist the process through the condemnation of terrorist activity. No link will be established between the Palestinian track and other tracks (Syrian-Lebanese).

In the period up to the critical Sharon Cabinet vote on the Roadmap, the
Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu worked feverishly to draft a set of
Israeli conditions to tack onto Israel's acceptance of the Roadmap proposed
by U.S. President Bush.

When the Cabinet approved the decision - with conditions - Prime Minister
Sharon's office declined to publish the conditions. The text of the
conditions was leaked to IMRA and after it was distributed by IMRA was also
published by Haaretz. For years the Foreign Ministry website featured the
Haaretz article rather than some formal document. Years later, the Knesset
website added the text of the conditions and now the Foreign Ministry
website carries the text with the notation "As published on the Knesset
website."

This remains a bizarre note in Israel's history: the text of a document of
a key cabinet decision in Israel's diplomatic history remains with the
caveat that it is not an official text.

Some features:

5. Kill Them - This one is pretty straightforward. We have the lead in both conventional and non-conventional weapons. Any nation hosting Islamic extremists would have a year to take care of the problem, or we would take care of them. No nation building, just massive destruction aimed at their technological and transportation infrastructure reverting them back to 19th, if not the 18th century.

Pros: It solves much of the problem, especially when combined with a quarantine.

Cons: We would have to be willing to kill millions, directly or indirectly, while maintaining an alliance that would defy Russia, China and the First World nations that would accuse us of genocide. The real name for this war might well turn out to be World War III. It would take a Churchill or a Roosevelt to launch something like that, and while the world would be radically different afterward, it might well turn out to be radioactively different too.

Of course that still beats having out grandchildren grow up as slaves of the Ummah.

Column One: Surviving in a post-American world

Like it or not, the United States of America is no longer the world's policeman. This was the message of Barack Obama's presidential journey to Britain, France, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Iraq this past week.

Somewhere between apologizing for American history - both distant and recent; genuflecting before the unelected, bigoted king of Saudi Arabia; announcing that he will slash the US's nuclear arsenal, scrap much of America's missile defense programs and emasculate the US Navy; leaving Japan to face North Korea and China alone; telling the Czechs, Poles and their fellow former Soviet colonies, "Don't worry, be happy," as he leaves them to Moscow's tender mercies; humiliating Iraq's leaders while kowtowing to Iran; preparing for an open confrontation with Israel; and thanking Islam for its great contribution to American history, President Obama made clear to the world's aggressors that America will not be confronting them for the foreseeable future.

Whether they are aggressors like Russia, proliferators like North Korea, terror exporters like nuclear-armed Pakistan or would-be genocidal-terror-supporting nuclear states like Iran, today, under the new administration, none of them has any reason to fear Washington.

This news is music to the ears of the American Left and their friends in Europe. Obama's supporters like billionaire George Soros couldn't be more excited at the self-induced demise of the American superpower. CNN's former (anti-)Israel bureau chief Walter Rodgers wrote ecstatically in the Christian Science Monitor on Wednesday, "America's... superpower status, is being downgraded as rapidly as its economy."

The pro-Obama US and European media are so pleased with America's abdication of power that they took the rare step of applauding Obama at his press conference in London. Indeed, the media's enthusiasm for Obama appeared to grow with each presidential statement of contrition for America's past uses of force, each savage attack he leveled against his predecessor George W. Bush, each swipe he took at Israel, and each statement of gratitude for the blessings of Islam he uttered.

But while the media couldn't get enough of the new US leader, America's most stable allies worldwide began a desperate search for a reset button that would cause the administration to take back its abandonment of America's role as the protector of the free world.

Tokyo was distraught by the administration's reaction to North Korea's three-stage ballistic missile test. Japan recognized the betrayal inherent in Defense Secretary Robert Gates's announcement ahead Pyongyang's newest provocation that the US would only shoot the missile down if it targeted US territory. In one sentence, uttered not in secret consultations, but declared to the world on CNN, Gates abrogated America's strategic commitment to Japan's defense.

India, for its part, is concerned by Obama's repeated assertions that its refusal to transfer control over the disputed Jammu and Kashmir provinces to Pakistan inspires Pakistani terror against India. It is equally distressed at the Obama administration's refusal to make ending Pakistan's support for jihadist terror groups attacking India a central component of its strategy for contending with Pakistan and Afghanistan. In general, Indian officials have expressed deep concern over the Obama administration's apparent lack of regard for India as an ally and a significant strategic counterweight to China.

Then there is Iraq. During his brief visit to Baghdad on Tuesday afternoon, Obama didn't even pretend that he would ensure that Iraqi democracy and freedom is secured before US forces are withdrawn next year. The most supportive statement he could muster came during his conversation with Turkish students in Istanbul earlier in the day. There he said, "I have a responsibility to make sure that as we bring troops out, that we do so in a careful enough way that we don't see a complete collapse into violence."

Hearing Obama's statements, and watching him and his advisers make daily declarations of friendship to Iran's mullahs, Iraqi leaders are considering their options for surviving the rapidly approaching storm.

Then there is Europe. Although Obama received enthusiastic applause from his audience in Prague when he announced his intention to destroy the US's nuclear arsenal, drastically scale back its missile defense programs and forge a new alliance with Russia, his words were anything but music to the ears of the leaders of former Soviet satellites threatened by Russia. The Czech, Polish, Georgian and Ukrainian governments were quick to recognize that Obama's strong desire to curry favor with the Kremlin and weaken his own country will imperil their ability to withstand Russian aggression.

It is not a coincidence, for instance, that the day Obama returned to Washington, Georgia's Moscow-sponsored opposition announced its plan to launch massive protests in Tblisi to force the ouster of pro-Western, anti-Russian Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.

And as for Russia, like Iran, which responded to Obama's latest ode to the mullahs by opening a nuclear fuel plant and announcing it has 7,000 advanced centrifuges in operation, so Moscow reacted to Obama's fig leaf with a machine gun, announcing its refusal to support sanctions against North Korea and repeating its false claim that Iran's nuclear program is nonaggressive.

Finally there is Israel. If Obama's assertions that Israel must support the immediate establishment of a Palestinian state, his declarations of support for the so-called Saudi "peace plan," which requires Israel to commit national suicide in exchange for "peace" with the Arab world, and his continuous and increasingly frantic appeals for Iran to "engage" his administration weren't enough to show Israel that Obama is sacrificing the US's alliance with the Jewish state in a bid to appease the Arabs and Iran, on Tuesday Vice President Joseph Biden made this policy explicit.

When Biden told CNN that Israel would be "ill-advised" to attack Iran's nuclear installations, he made clear that from the administration's perspective, an Israeli strike that prevents Iran from becoming a nuclear power is less acceptable than a nuclear-armed Iran. That is, the Obama administration prefers to see Iran become a nuclear power than to see Israel secure its very existence.

AMERICA'S BETRAYAL of its democratic allies makes each of them more vulnerable to aggression at the hands of their enemies - enemies the Obama administration is now actively attempting to appease. And as the US strengthens their adversaries at their expense, these spurned democracies must consider their options for surviving as free societies in this new, threatening, post-American environment.

For the most part, America's scorned allies lack the ability to defeat their enemies on their own. India cannot easily defeat nuclear-armed Pakistan, which itself is fragmenting into disparate anti-Indian nuclear-wielding Islamist and Islamist-supporting factions.

Japan today cannot face North Korea - which acts as a Chinese proxy - on its own without risking a confrontation with China. Russia's invasion of Georgia last August showed clearly that its former republics and satellites have no way of escaping Moscow's grip alone. This week's Arab League conference at Doha demonstrated to Iraq's leaders that their Arab brethren are incapable and unwilling to confront Iran.

And the Obama administration's intense efforts to woo Iran coupled with its plan to slash the US's missile defense programs - including those in which Israel participates - and reportedly pressure Israel to dismantle its own purported nuclear arsenal - make clear that Israel today stands alone against Iran.

THE RISKS that the newly inaugurated post-American world pose for America's threatened friends are clear. But viable opportunities for survival do exist, and Israel can and must play a central role in developing them. Specifically, Israel must move swiftly to develop active strategic alliances with Japan, Iraq, Poland, and the Czech Republic and it must expand its alliance with India.

With Israel's technological capabilities, its intelligence and military expertise, it can play a vital role in shoring up these countries' capacities to contain the rogue states that threaten them. And by containing the likes of Russia, North Korea and Pakistan, they will make it easier for Israel to contain Iran even in the face of US support for the mullahs.

The possibilities for strategic cooperation between and among all of these states and Israel run the gamut from intelligence sharing to military training, to missile defense, naval development, satellite collaboration, to nuclear cooperation. In addition, of course, expanded economic ties between and among these states can aid each of them in the struggle to stay afloat during the current global economic crisis.

Although far from risk free, these opportunities are realistic because they are founded on stable, shared interests. This is the case despite the fact that none of these potential alliances will likely amount to increased support for Israel in international forums. Dependent as they are on Arab oil, these potential allies cannot be expected to vote with Israel in the UN General Assembly. But this should not concern Jerusalem.

The only thing that should concern Jerusalem today is how to weaken Iran both directly by attacking its nuclear installations, and indirectly by weakening its international partners in Moscow, Pyongyang, Islamabad and beyond in the absence of US support. If Japan is able to contain North Korea and so limit Pyongyang's freedom to proliferate its nuclear weapons and missiles to Iran and Syria and beyond, Israel is better off. So, too, Israel is better off if Russia is contained by democratic governments in Eastern and Central Europe. These nations in turn are better off if Iran is contained and prevented from threatening them both directly and indirectly through its strategic partners in North Korea, Syria and Russia, and its terror affiliates in Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

For the past 16 years, successive Israeli governments have wrongly believed that politics trump strategic interests. The notion that informed Israel's decision-makers - not unlike the notion that now informs the Obama administration - was that Israel's strategic interests would be secured as a consequence of its efforts to appease its enemies by weakening itself. Appreciative of Israel's sacrifices for peace, the nations of the world - and particularly the US, the Arabs and Europe - would come to Israel's defense in its hour of need. Now that the hour of need has arrived, Israel's political strategy for securing itself has been exposed as a complete fiasco.

The good news is that no doubt sooner rather than later, Obama's similarly disastrous bid to denude the US of its military power under the naive assumption that it will be able to use its new stature as a morally pure strategic weakling to win its enemies over to its side will fail spectacularly and America's foreign policy will revert to strategic rationality.

But to survive the current period of American strategic madness, Israel and the US's other unwanted allies must build alliances with one another - covertly if need be - to contain their adversaries in the absence of America. If they do so successfully, then the damage to global security induced by Obama's emasculation of his country will be limited. If on the other hand, they fail, then America's eventual return to its senses will likely come too late for its allies - if not for America itself.

Interviewed in English twice in recent days - in her Knesset office and in a Jerusalem hotel - Zuabi, one of Balad's three MKs and the former director of the I'lam: Media Center for Arab Palestinians in Israel, said Iran's role in Palestinian affairs was "more useful" than that of regimes like Jordan and Egypt, in that Iran stood more firmly "against occupation than a lot of the Arab countries. This is our interest."

One of the funniest lines I’ve heard was Tony Blair speaking about democratic Israel and secular Palestine. It’s not even the point that an utterly failed prime minister takes it upon himself to lecture the oldest nation on earth. Blair’s own country is a monarchy and non-secular at that. That’s true, in Britain like in many other European countries church and state are not separated. In Christian monarchy, a Jewish commoner is not equal to the queen, nor are the Jews equal to Christians because state holidays and symbolism are Christian and budgeting favors Christian organizations. Blair, nevertheless, argues that Israel must provide her Muslim residents with full equality.

Blair’s role of arbiter is absurd. Jews do not want an arbiter to begin with. After millennia of persecutions, we don’t care whether the solution we want is just, we just want it. But more, Blair cannot possibly arbitrate our conflict with Arabs because of self-interest; as if real conflicts could be arbitrated at all. Britain consistently takes pro-Arab position in foreign relations. British economic interests lie with oil-producing Muslims. British strategic partnerships are with Arab countries. Britain sought to prevent Israeli state from coming into being and usually did not oppose UN’s anti-Semitic resolutions.

The Quartet’s moralizing attempts are obscene. The United States comfortably exists on the land it took from slaughtered Native Indians; even the far-left liberals do not argue for returning the land to its rightful owners the Indians. How’s the administration of the Occupied United States concerned with Israeli “occupation” of a tiny strip of land alongside an unimportant river?

Both the United States and Britain retain colonial possessions against the islanders’ will. France lost its colonies despite great will to maintain them, and cannot in good faith argue against Israeli “occupation.” Russia occupies Japanese (the Kuril Islands), German (Koenigsberg), and until recently – Polish and Romanian territories as well as many other ethnically distinct regions. The UN, another member of the Quartet, has no problem with the world’s many monarchies, nationalist regimes, atrocious governments, border wars, and ethnic persecutions, but became obsessed over Israeli issues.

Is there an arbiter acceptable to Israel? The defeatist establishment accepted even the most biased arbiter, the Quartet. A Jewish government would have rejected any arbiter because we want the land rather than justice for Arabs; let the Americans restore justice to their Native Indians first. But an impartial arbiter is impossible to find: since Arabs are more numerous than Jews, more important strategically, and possess oil, any governmental arbiter would favor them. A non-governmental arbiter inherently lacks the power of enforcement and does not command the respect associated with power in international relations.

The Quartet is just a new name for the Evian Conference.

All this international generosity for the Palestinians is not because any one else cares for them or loves them. Its the world's way of getting back at the Jews. There's nothing else involved here and if any other people lost a war, they wouldn't be getting $5 billion in aid waiting in the pipeline for them. Heck, the world isn't even that generous to victims of natural disasters! Its a marvel how every one is so stingy when the Jews aren't in the picture. But that changes in a heartbeat when someone is a victim of the Jews.Just color me cynical. All this milk of human kindness isn't flowing because they want to rebuild Gaza. The accusation of being a racist has long been used to silence the people who claim prior ownership of this land, so much so the word racist has ceased to have any shock value. It is purely and solely used as a threat of a jail term to anyone who objects to the colonization of this country, because that is precisely what is taking place.

Our country is being confiscated, being given to Europe and opened up as another land mass to house all the world’s poor. If you don’t do something to halt this treason you are going to lose your country to the European Federalists.

Who gave these people permission to do this? Our survival instinct tells us that the disgusting social and violent changes, the stifling of freedom of speech and the watering down of our culture that is taking place in this country is not normal but we are not allowed to say so. I smell fascism here.

If I remember prior to 1948 the word racist was never heard or used. The police force certainly takes racism seriously, they use it very selectively. Are Afghans brought before the courts for racist remarks to Pakistanis, what about the Kurds, can they be accused of racism? Of course not, it only applies to the people who call this island the land of their ancestors.

The word really starting appearing in our everyday language when the first Landing Craft the ‘Windrush’ ran up the beach at Southampton and has been used selectively against the people of this land ever since to silence any opposition to colonization. It has been extremely effective.

The people glower at the invader, they resent them but they say nothing, they dare not. In the privacy of their home or with their own tribe at the pub it’s a different matter. First they are careful to check that the ‘thought police’ are not around monitoring their conversations.

The pub owner who was foolish enough to pin newspaper reports to the pub wall was to find out to his horror the error of his ways. The newspaper reports were NOT racist when it was in the newspaper but suddenly they were racist once it was cut out of the newspaper and pinned to a pub wall. The person who reported it was one of our own tribe. That is a real cause for alarm. It appears even our own people are traitors to their own tribe.

Let us not forget the Radio Amateur that affixed an A4 size Union Jack to his radio mast and was accused of racist provocation and frog marched to the Police station.

This is true Orwellian stuff. The Prolls say nothing, they are far too frightened.

If the servicemen and women returning home from bloody battlefields of North Africa and Europe were told that the country they fought so valiantly for, there would be a Black Police Association and a Gay Police Association, same sex marriages would be legalized and that unnatural sex perversions and explicit sex foreplay would be taught to pre-pubescent children and that their own people would be blatantly discriminated against in jobs and housing, that their Christian celebrations would watered down so as not to offend the invader, and a female child given to a brace of male homosexuals to foster they would say you were mad.

This horror is taking place throughout Europe. I suspect Holland, defender and champion of sex; drugs and rock and roll may be a lost cause, with France not far behind. Europe desperately needs political change but the Globalists are determined not to give up without a fight. Their grand design for Europe has been planned for many years, it is imperative the momentum be kept going.

What are we hearing from Brussels and Davos; we must not withdraw into protectionism but embrace Globalism. Our Mr. Brown knows all about Globalism, he never shuts up about it.

Perhaps he can give India another 600 million pounds of the tax payer’s money to keep their space programme ticking over. Our aged will cope; Iceland will keep up the supply of knitted woollies.

The workers object to foreigners taking British jobs, so their own Unions who are happy to take their subs and give a percentage of their subs to the political party who are directly responsible for taking their jobs in the first place, then accuse the workers of being racist scum, it’s that word again, Déjà vu. Whose interest does their union stand for? God help us! The Mad Hatter was more sane than these people.

A Jewish Solution to the Conflict*

In December 2008, former IDF Chief of Staff L. Gen. Moshe Yaalon published a policy paper “Israel and the Palestinians: A New Strategy.” Yaalon’s plan requires a democratic metamorphosis of the Palestinian Authority. Needed first, he says, is economic prosperity among the Palestinians to produce a middle class society inclined to moderation, the rule of law, and peace—precondition of responsible self-government. Israelis and Palestinians will then arrive at a peaceful settlement of their conflict.

Caroline Glick agrees. In her Jerusalem Post article “The Israeli solution” (February 2, 2009), she says, “It is obvious today that for the Palestinians to develop into a society that may be capable of statehood in the long term, they require a period of a generation or two to rebuild their society in a peaceful way.”

Yaalon and Glick need to think again. To expect Israel to implement “The Israeli solution” when the average duration of its government is less than two years and when its cabinet consists of five or more rival political parties is hardly realistic. Any solution to the conflict must be preceded by basic reform of Israel’s governing institutions. Of course, institutions, however well-designed, do not guarantee wisdom and virtue. Nevertheless, if well-designed, they increase the probability of obtaining the quality of government needed to solve the conflict. Here is a summary of what I propose:

PARLIAMENT. The parliament will be bicameral. Its two functions, law-making and administrative overview, will be divided between two assemblies, a Senate and a House of Representatives. To anticipate objections to a second branch of parliament without law-making power, let’s compare it with the existing Knesset.

Roughly 25 percent of the Knesset’s 120 members are cabinet ministers and deputy ministers. Since they are party leaders, the Knesset is incapable of exercising the important function of administrative overview—which is why corruption in government is so widespread in Israel. In contrast, members of my proposed House of Representatives will be excluded from the cabinet. They will be free to determine whether the laws are being faithfully and efficiently administered—and they will have subpoena powers to grill the bureaucracy.

THE GOVERNMENT. A presidential system will replace Israel’s inept and unstable system of multi-party cabinet government. The cabinet will consist of professionals, not rival party leaders.

THE SUPREME COURT. Judges will be nominated by the President (advised by a council learned in Jewish and secular law). Nominations will be confirmed by the Senate in public hearings. Consistent with the Foundation of Law Act 1980, Jewish law will be first among equals vis-à-vis the foreign legal systems currently used by the Court.

If it would take one or two generations to democratize the Palestinian Authority, surely it would take less than a year or another election to change Israel’s system of governance, since more than 50 percent of the public is more or less disgusted with Israel’s corrupt as well as undemocratic political and judicial institutions.

Now, it must be emphasized that the Yaalon plan, or what Glick calls “The Israeli solution,” endorses an eventual Arab-Muslim state in Judea and Samaria. I categorically reject such a state both on Jewish and geo-strategic grounds. It is utterly unrealistic to expect Arab to forgo their religion and become bourgeois democrats. There is no evidence whatever to expect economic prosperity to trump Islam, especially while Islam is achieving global power. I therefore contend that Israel’s only realistic alternative is to destroy the PA and the entire terrorist network west of the Jordan River.

Genuine realism requires a theological understanding of the enemy. Genuine realists know that territorial compromise with Muslims only whets their appetite for further aggression. Genuine realists know there are no empirical grounds to expect Muslims to renounce Jihadism—the precondition of peace—unless they are so devastated as to expunge their desire to wage war for a hundred years—as the Allied powers did to Nazi Germany.

Israel, especially Jerusalem, is the focus of Islam’s war against the West. The West is steeped in denial. Israel must awaken the West by going on the offensive. It must destroy the terrorist network west of the River Jordan. But as I have indicated, this goal requires basic reform of Israel’s political system whose fragmented and transient nature precludes the execution of any coherent and long-term national strategy.

In the final analysis, the only way to solve Israel’s conflict with its Arab enemies—and this includes its own Arab citizens—is to make Israel more Jewish. The institutional reforms I have proposed will contribute very much to this objective because they will empower the people, most of whom are to the right of Israel’s ruling elites. The February 10 election witnessed the political power of Israel’s right-minded public, which would become even more united and effective under my proposed system of governance. Nor is this all.

We need leaders who understand that it is precisely the failure of Jews to insist on their God-given and exclusive ownership of the Land of Israel that encourages Arabs to persist in their war against our people. Since the goal of the Arabs—depicted in their maps—is to conquer all of Palestine, a rational government of Israel should adopt the following course of action:

1. Abrogate the Oslo Agreement and eliminate the entire terrorist leadership. This will demoralize the Arabs. No Arab leadership will speedily arise and command the loyalty of the artificial collection of rival clans called the “Palestinians.”

2.With the PA destroyed, Israel’s Government should declare Jewish sovereignty over Yesha. (The Arabs in these areas will retain the personal, religious, and economic rights they enjoyed under Israeli law, but they will not vote in Israeli elections.)

3.The Government should establish unequivocal jurisdiction over the Temple Mount.

4.It should move certain cabinet ministries to Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. (This will convince Arabs that the Jews intend to remain in these areas permanently.)

5.The Government should pass a Homestead Act and sell small plots of land in Yesha at low prices to Jews in Israel and abroad with the proviso that they settle on the land, say for a period of six years. This would diminish the dangerous population density of Israel’s large cities and encourage Jewish immigration to Israel.

6.Develop model cities in Yesha by attracting foreign capital investment on terms favorable to the investors. Based on experience, and given Israel’s present Gross Domestic Product of $170 billion, at least 150,000 Jews could be settled in Judea and Samaria within a few years. Their presence will prompt many more Arabs to leave, as tens of thousands have done in the past, and in greater number if offered generous incentives.

As concerns Israel’s itself, I advocate the following measures:

1. The Law of Return should make explicit that Israel is a Jewish commonwealth, that its Jewish character is its paramount principle to which all other principles are subordinate.

2. Amend the “grandfather clause” of the Law of Return to diminish the number of gentile immigrants, and devote the vast sums saved to assimilate gentiles now residing in Israel.

3. Enforce Basic Law: The Knesset, which prohibits any party that negates the Jewish character of the State

4. Enforce the 1952 Citizenship Law, which empowers the Government to nullify the citizenship of any Israel national that commits “an act of disloyalty to the State.” (I would amend the term “act” to protect freedom of speech and press.)

5. Put an end to the notorious tax evasion of Arab citizens and their countless violations of building and zoning laws.

6. Terminate subsidies to, or expel, Arab university students who call for Israel’s destruction, and require Arab schools to include Jewish studies in their curriculum.

7. Phase out U.S. military aid to Israel (now less than 1.5% of the country’s GDP), as well as American participation in Israel-Arab affairs. Both undermine Israel’s strategic interests as well as Jewish national pride.

Of course, this is a grandiose project. But the Yaalon strategy is a strategy of retreat and Jewish self-effacement. It would yield much of Israel’s heartland to the Arabs. It would require the expulsion of more than 100,000 Jews from their homes. It would discourage aliya and prompt many Jews to leave Israel and thus lead to the termination of the one and only Jewish homeland.

Yes, my Jewish solution to the conflict is grandiose, and it’s not designed for “men without chests.” But the Jewish people, though few in number, revolutionized humanity. Inspired by the Torah, we can do it again.

Israeli Elections: One Thing Wrong with Avigdor Lieberman's Plan for Israel

[Lieberman] . . . one candidate who is different, in substance and appearance – Avigdor Lieberman.

Israeli Arabs call Lieberman, the leader of Israel Beiteinu ("Israel Our Home") – a party that initially drew strength from the immigrant community, but has since become more mainstream – a fascist and a racist.

His controversial campaign slogan, "Without loyalty, there is no citizenship," calls for all citizens to swear an oath of allegiance to the country, as well as serve in the army or do some form of national service. If they don’t, he says, they should lose their rights as citizens.

Critics say his platform is just a not-so-thinly-veiled attack on Israel’s 1.5 million Arabs. And Jews from the largest orthodox party, Shas, call him Satan because like Israel’s Arabs – most ultra-Orthodox members don’t serve in the army.

He backs the idea of a Palestinian state, but suggests that Israel’s Arab citizens – who make up 20 percent of the population – swap land with Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank. Israeli Arabs see that plan as just another way of throwing them out their homes in Israel.

Hamas fires first shore-to-ship C-802 missile

31 Jan.: DEBKAfile's military sources reveal a formidable addition to Hamas' arsenal: The missile fired from Gaza out to the Mediterranean last week was not a Qassam as reported but a C-802, the Iranian shore-to-ship Nur C-802 missile, which is based on the Chinese "Silkworm."

It was launched by Iranian officers who are training Hamas operatives in its use before delivering a large consignment. With its 120-km range and 165-kilo warhead, the C-802's mission is to break Israel's 40 km blockade of Gaza's waters. This is now the key objective of Tehran and the Palestinian Islamists.

The Israeli Navy's first brush with the C-802 was in the 2006 Lebanon war. On July 14, it was used by Hizballah to cripple the Hanit missile ship opposite Beirut.

Our sources affirm that arms smuggling to Gaza continues by land and sea at the pre-war tempo notwithstanding the brave talk in Jerusalem, Washington and Cairo of a concerted effort to stem the flow.

Since 2006, military experts note, Iran has upgraded the C-802 in an important respect. A new version, of which 1,000 have been delivered to Hizballah, operates without radar. It has the attributes of a cruise missile with small radar reflectivity, a strong anti-jamming capability and the ability to skim as low as 5-7 meters from the water's surface under the targeted ship's radar. Tehran claims 98 percent targeting effectiveness for its updated Nur anti-ship missile.

For ancient Greek and Roman pagan authors, Jerusalem definitely was a Jewish city. This article draws on references to Jerusalem from nearly twenty different sources, dating from the third century BCE to the third century CE, which are included in the late Professor Menahem Stern's comprehensive anthology, Greek and Latin Authors on Jews and Judaism. An examination of these texts indicates the unanimous agreement that Jerusalem was Jewish by virtue of the fact that its inhabitants were Jews, it was founded by Jews and the Temple, located in Jerusalem, was the center of the Jewish religion. In these sources, Jerusalem appears in several contexts: foundation narratives, descriptions of and links to the Temple, historical events, usually relating to invasions and captures of the city, physical descriptions, and the derogatory use of the term "Solyma" by Roman writers after its destruction by Titus in 70 CE. It is noteworthy that despite the negative views of Jews and Judaism expressed by authors such as Manetho, Apion, Tacitus and Juvenal, the Jewish identity of Jerusalem is always clear and never a subject of dispute. These ancient texts, therefore, disprove recent attempts by Muslims and others to deny the historic connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem and the location of the Temple in Jerusalem through fabrications and lies.

The Jewish identity of Jerusalem as recorded in the writings of Greek and Roman authors of classical antiquity is a subject worthy of study in its own right. This article draws on references to Jerusalem in nearly twenty different sources dating from the third century BCE to the third century CE, roughly six centuries.

An examination of the sources indicates their authors' complete and unanimous agreement that Jerusalem was Jewish by virtue of the fact that it was founded by Jews, its inhabitants were Jews and that the Temple, located in Jerusalem, was the center of the Jewish religion. Despite the fact that some of these authors had distinctly negative views about Jews and Judaism, they were all in agreement about the Jewish identity of the city. For example, in his lengthy account of the Camp David Summit of July 2000, chief American negotiator Dennis Ross attributes much of its failure to the late Chairman Yasir Arafat of the Palestinian Authority who not only repeated "old mythologies" but invented "a new one ... [that] the Temple did not exist in Jerusalem but in Nablus."[2]

In 2003, an IDF Bedouin soldier shot British journalist in Gaza, apparently mistaking his camera for a weapon. Other accounts indicate Miller was caught in fighting. Whatever the case, the anti-Israeli journalist is dead. [tough sh*t]

Miller’s family demanded compensation and British government threatened Israel with a request for soldiers’ extradition. Normal nations just don’t care: Russia ignored British extradition requests on several occasions. In Litvinenko case, Russian decision sparked a short diplomatic crisis, forgotten a few months after.

Israel paid the dead Jew-hater’s family much more than the government has ever paid to the families of fallen Jewish heroes. Miller’s payment sets a dangerous precedent which the “human rights” organizations will use to extort more money from Israel.

Something important happened in Israel during the Gaza operation: for the first time, her Arabs rioted in response to foreign events. Thirty years ago, any riots were unthinkable: the commonsense leftist establishment ruled Arabs with iron fist. Intifada came about because Israelis heavily provoked their Arabs: the Oslo capitulation created an impression that the Palestinian victory is near and only a last-ditch effort is needed to free the land of Zionists. The Oslo Intifada came in response to Palestinian domestic events. The current operation in Gaza was entirely different.

Most Israeli Arabs have no communication with Gaza for sixty years; in other words, the two communities never communicated. A large number of illegal migrants from Gaza live in Lod which is itself alien to other Israeli Arabs. Settled Israeli Arabs feel their roots in their villages even when they live in towns for generations. Gazans are an uprooted bunch; their villages are no more. Other Palestinians, accordingly, despise them.

Not surprisingly, the West Bank was the Muslim territory with the lowest attendance of pro-Gazan demonstrations. Relatively affluent West Bankers not only despise their poor and displaced brethren in Gaza, but fear them a lot. A contiguous West Bank – Gaza state is their nightmare as they don’t want criminal lumpens from Gaza swarming the West Bank cities and villages. Palestinian loyalists explain the lack of rallies by Fatah suppressing pro-Hamas expression, but that’s a non sequitur: Israeli Arabs stage pro-Gaza rallies without Hamas flags, and so could the West Bankers – but they are not interested. The West Bank Palestinians developed their self-identification which excludes both Israel and Gaza, and comfortably insulated themselves in it.

Not so with Israeli Arabs. A new generation was educated in Israeli schools and universities; it learned secular nationalism on glorious Jewish examples and religious nationalism in mosques. The peace process pronounced them non-Palestinians – true Palestinians live in the West Bank and suffer from Israeli occupation rather than benefit from Israeli municipal services. They cannot identify with Jewish state, its Zionist ideology, and Judaic symbols. So they search desperately for self-identification. To that end, they insist on being brothers to Gazans, behave decidedly militantly, and oppose the Jewish state which seeks to strip them of their anti-Jewish identity.

In every revolution, the vast majority remained inert. Revolutions succeed depending on the zeal of a few. Israeli analysts wrongly concentrate on a rosy picture of large numbers of Israeli Arabs who vote in elections, work at Jewish factories side-by-side with Jews, and otherwise behave subserviently. More important is the minority of Arabs who urgently seek their national roots. The ever-increasing economic gap between hard-working Jews and inefficient Arabs, massive welfare which allows Arabs idle time, and the provocative police inaction in the face of Arab lawlessness combine to increase the numbers and zeal of Palestinian patriots in Israel.

Nice Jews of the Diaspora sat quietly while European Muslims rioted against Israel. Naturally, gentiles think that the operation in Gaza is not critical to Jews, but of overarching significance for Arabs – and side with them. Jews in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa go on with their life routine just as the neighbors’ children fight in Gaza and other Jews thirty miles away sit in bomb shelters. Arabs rioted in support of Gaza; for three years when rockets fell on South Israel, where were the Jewish riots in support of Sderot? Arabs desperately want to win; to that all-important end, they have no qualms targeting Israeli civilians, even her Arabs. Jews value the foreign opinion and fake morality above victory, and deliver humanitarian aid to Hamas voters. Victorious Israel sued for ceasefire while defeated Hamas refused submitting to international pressure, clung to its nationalist demands and rejected permanent accommodation. Jews accept moral equivalence of the People of Israel with a Palestinian no-nation, but Hamas doesn’t deal in splitting its motherland.

In the end, every struggle is a competition in determination. On one side, there are Jews taught that they have no religious right to this land and basically stole it from owners. On other side, there are Arabs who believe they have religious right to this land and are its rightful owners. Jews can rid themselves of the post-Zionist attitude or of the Arabs, preferably of both. Otherwise, our chances against Palestinian patriots are slim.

What’s wrong with a mixed state?

There is a country that preserves and encourages [1] Jewish culture and religion. The United States. The US Senate is certainly more tolerant and encouraging of Judaism than is the Muslim faction in the Israeli Knesset. How is the Jewish-Muslim state in Israel better than the Christian-Jewish in America? The only reason the Jews went to Palestine is because we want OUR OWN country. Why would we want to share a country with Muslims? Sephardic Jews tried that for centuries, and were happy to escape to Israel. We Jews really offend Palestinians, and they hate us. Jews are inherently second-rate people for Muslims. We theoretically could never build a good faith relationship with them.

Nor do we have to. Scores of countries have expelled Jews because we’re different. Now because we want to remain different, we must deport the Muslims. Not kill or rob them as they killed and robbed us in pogroms in Mandate Palestine and in the War of Independence. Not drown them into the sea, as they tried to drown us in several wars. Just move them. Even compensate them, if we want to look stupid. Not to the end of the earth. Only an hour’s drive away to Jordan, where their kin forms a qualified majority.

The Jewish religion cannot be possibly practiced in a Promised Land populated by Muslims; the Temple Mount is just one humiliating example. It bothers me to see the Haram ash-Sharif above the Western Wall we pray at. The Dome was specifically built there to commemorate the triumph of Islam. Minimal self-esteem requires Israelis to do away with the Dome.

Judaism is different from other religions. It is neither a philosophy or an abstract idea. No. Judaism is about doing. We practice Judaism in minute detail daily. And Judaism is incompatible with Islamic culture. We don’t want Muslim children in Israeli-financed schools to learn that Islam is superior to Judaism or learn cruelty by killing sheep when they are not even ten years old. We don’t want Muslim Israelis to be loyal to the anti-Israeli umma. We don’t want Saudi Arabia to finance Wahhabite schools on Israeli soil or to buy that soil with the proceeds from their oil racket. Judaism prohibits recreational hunting; Islam allows it. Judaism prohibits killing camels and horses for food; Muslims do that. Judaism prescribes monogamy; Islam welcomes polygamy.

Twenty-four thousand of Rabbi Akiva’s students joined Bar Kochba’s revolt. Would they share a state with hostile, disdainful Muslims?

The deterioration of Israel’s self-respect is disheartening. Soon after the state was formed, Israel was forced to deal with the first MIA situation. Sharon then kidnapped several Jordanian officers, and exchanged them for Israeli MIAs. The Shalit debacle goes on for years even though Dughmushes, Hamas ministers, and PIJ members are walking at large, waiting to be taken hostage for exchange with Shalit. Common Gazans laud Hamas instead of crying as Israel destroys a dozen of houses per hour to force his release.

When the terrorists hijacked an aircraft with Jewish passengers and landed it in Entebbe, they asked for a prisoner swap which seems laughable by the current standards, only for a few of their comrades. Israel chose to attack a sovereign state of Uganda, lose a number of hostages and a commando, but refused negotiating with kidnappers. Both Rabin and the opposition leader Menahem Begin agreed then: as long as even a slightest chance exists to release the hostages forcibly, they should not be exchanged.

Israel embarked on the course which lacks even a Kafka’s explanation, such as exchanging a thousand terrorists for a Jewish drug dealer or a top terrorist Kuntar for two decomposed corpses which used to be Jews. Now the government will trade the terrorists who did not pull the trigger regardless of their role as accomplices to mass murder of Jews. Israeli jails are full with 11,000 “terrorists” of the stone-throwers’ variety who should rather be flogged and dumped into Gaza.

Israel successfully hunted down the terrorists who killed Jewish athletes during the German Olympics. Since the 1980s, Israel only hunts down conservative Jews, murdering the people like Kahane and settler activists. Paying homage to the daring operations of the early state, Mossad and Shabak engage in targeted assassinations of terrorist leaders, but the effect is just the opposite. While the early assassinations of perpetrators made common terrorists nervous and pushed them to make errors and be caught, leaders’ assassinations do not concern the common members, and are avenged tremendously against soft Jewish targets abroad.

When PLFP-GC hijacked an El Al aircraft, the IDF blew up thirteen civilian airliners in Beirut airport. When the PLO very rarely shelled Israel North from Lebanon, Israel responded with massive retaliatory raids which drove masses of Shiites from South Lebanon, eventually leading to the civil war in Beirut. Who could think forty years ago that Israel would resort to theatrical raids on Gaza in retaliation to the shower of rockets on her towns?

The problem is the rulers of Israel believed their own rhetoric. Leftists such as Ben Gurion spoke about peace and tolerance but ruled the Arabs with iron fist. The next generation took their pronouncements to the heart. The generation of Israeli leaders who lack the firsthand experience of pre-state war of survival with Arabs, who expect the IDF to prevail and the US to intervene, who are concerned with foreign media more than with domestic opinion, lead the country to death. Unless, of course, we deal with them reciprocally.

OBAMA'S "NEW" MIDDLE EAST ENVOY

. . . been there, done that--same old (s.o.s.)--2-state solution is no solution.

Only one way to solve this Arab-Moslem-created "problem"--A One-State Solution: One State=Israel.

"but, but"--they will say--what about the "Palestinians?"(meaning the Arabs).

They must go (not an original thought, I know--but one voiced by one who knew that it will be the only way).

Boring to repeat that they--the Arabs, the Moslems--came from many parts of the huge territories under the yoke of Islam, and they can go back there.

What happened to the Hamas wanna-be Jew-killers should have been pursued until none remained--and Gaza held not one Arab soul who sought to kill a Jew, just because he was a Jew.

Iron Wall of Jabotinsky (modified a la Kahane), iron first to enforce this.

No quarter, no listening to whining or being moved by Arafatian (phegh!) tears.

This will never be a U.S. Middle East policy. It should be an Israeli Middle East policy.

Possible? Yes. How? There are people in Israel who know. Problem is the government--there--and here.

What is needed for that problem are changes. The U.S. just had its (s.o.s.). Israel could benefit from theirs--but not in the same direction: hard starboard rudder-- and then dead ahead.

Of course, her bias does not stop with just censoring the material. Oh no, [Karen] Armstrong cheers when the Meccan kafirs die. Every death of a kafir is wonderful, since it advances the glory of Mohammed. She justifies the destruction of the Jews and says that Christians have done worse.

Antisemitism--Jew-hatred or Judophobia--has been around as long as Jews.

Why "IN YELLOW?" It was the most common color of the badges and clothes Jews were forced to wear in Europe and under Islam. After repeated expulsions and permission to re-enter into various countries (for economic reasons not for "love" of Jews) during the Middle Ages. European anti-semitism continued.

The yellow clothes and badges were designed to make the Jew an outcast,and marked him for ready identification for persecution. The yellow was only a garment, it did not reach into the Jewish soul. Jews were beaten, imprisoned, and killed with impunity. There was only one answer to this persecution and hounding from country to country: a country for the Jews. A land where Jews would no be persecuted by their fellow citizens for being Jews.

Israel the land of the Jews came about by in large part by Jews who were not reticent to take action. Prominent amongst these were the fighters of the LEHI (Stern Group) who did much to sour the desire of the pro-Arab British not to have a Jewish country.
